Beneficial and Contradicated Diet
According to Ayurveda following dietary do's and dont's should be followed by patients.
       
 
Beneficial Diet (Pathyakara Aahara)
     
  Grains
       
1.    Chapati    
2.    Toasted bread with ghee / honey/ unsalted butter
3.    Rice Roasted / steamed / boiled / Rice gruel
       
  Beans
       
1.    Green gram soup (Moongdal)
2.    Lentil soup (Masoor dal)    
3.    Boiled with ginger powder, cumin powder, black pepper    powder, saindhava (rock salt) and ghee
       
  Vegetables
       
1.    Pumpkin 2. Snake gourd
3.    Bitter gourd 4. Elephant Ears
5.    Lady’s finger 6. China cabbage
7.    Vegetable soup    
8.    Above vegetables + raddish/ beetroot/ Carrot + fresh    ginger, garlic, coriander, black pepper & ghee
   
  Fruits
   
1.    Pomegranate 2. Sweet grapes
3.    Fig 4. Apple
5.    Dry fruits 6. Fig
7.    Date 8. Black resins
9.    Almond
   
  Non vegetarian food
   
1.    Liver soup 2. Bone marrow soup (Goat)
   
  Salad
   
1.    Raddish 2. Beetroot
3.    Cabbage
4.    Carrot + lemon juice + Black pepper powder + Rock salt
   
  Liquids
   
1.    Boiled water
2.    Milk- ½ milk + ½ Water + Pinch of ginger powder
3.    Buttermilk with a pinch of black pepper powder
4.    Buttermilk with pinch of ginger powder & salt
5.    Herbal tea
6.    Ginger ½ inch + Lemon grass – 1 leaf+ Basil leaves –4 to 5 +    2 cup of water - Boil it half & drink in the morning – Evening
Contraindicated Diet (Apathyakara Aahara)
   
1.    Black gram (Udid dal), Chickpeas
2.    Cucumber  
3.    Bananas, sour fruits  
4.    Tomato sauce  
5.    Green chilies  
6.    Yogurt  
7.    Salted butter  
8.    Salted cheese  
9.    Chilled drinks/ food  
10.    Chicken  
11.    Too much alcohol  
12.    Too much black tea  
13.    Too much coffee  
14.    Oily food  
15.    Fasting
